BOE, city offer summer meals

Andalusia City Schools and the City of Andalusia are offering free meals programs during the summer months.

During the month of June, Andalusia City Schools will serve breakfast from 7:30 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. and lunch from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., weekdays at the Woodson Learning Center (old middle school).

ACS also will serve breakfast from 7 until 7:30 a.m. and lunch from 10:30 .m. until 11 a.m., Mondays through Thursdays in June at Andalusia High School.

The City of Andalusia will again participate in the Summer Food Service Program this June and July.

With help from the Alabama State Department of Education and the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Andalusia Health and the City’s A.P.P.L.E. Program have partnered again to provide an evening meal for children ages 18 and under.

Meals will be served Mondays through Fridays at the Woodson Learning Center cafeteria from 4-4:30 p.m. during the month of June (June 3 -28), and at the Coleman Gym (pavilion) during the month of July (July 1 -26). There will be no meal served on July 4th. There is no charge for these meals.

Both facilities are located at C.C. Baker Ave.

Legal guardians may register children by visiting the Woodson Learning Center, A.P.P.L.E. office, Mondays -Fridays, 1-5 p.m. Forms can also be found on line at www.cityofandalusia.com.
