Opp BOE hires for 2019-20

The Opp Board of Education on Tuesday began the process of making several personnel decisions for the 2019-2020 school year.

The board offered employment to:

• Alexa Wilson as a special education teacher at Opp Elementary School.

• Laken Harris as an English teacher at Opp Middle School.

• Griffin Windham as a paraprofessional at Opp High School.

The board granted tenure to:

• Brandy Moseley as a teacher at Opp High School.

• Debbie Preachers as a teacher at Opp High School.

• Dillon Worley as a teacher at Opp High School.

• Paige Strickland as a teacher at Opp Middle School.

• Beth Jackson as a teacher at Opp Elementary School.

• Kerri Wyatt as a teacher at Opp Elementary School.

• Missy Breedlove as a teacher at Opp Elementary School.

• Melissa Carpenter as a counselor at Opp Elementary School.

Renewed the contracts of:

• David McVay as a teacher at Opp High School.

• Cam Pierce as a teacher at Opp High School.

• Deborah Murray as a teacher at Opp High School.

• Bubba Nall as a teacher at Opp High School.

• Emily Dorsey as a teacher at Opp High School.

• Heather McLeod as a teacher at Opp Elementary School.

• Alison Perry as a teacher at Opp Elementary School.

Non-renewed the contracts of:

• Robyn James as a paraprofessional at Opp Elementary School.

• Tonya Washington as a paraprofessional at Opp Middle School.

The board also added Dalton Tidwell and Laken McBride to the substitute list, and approved a leave of absence for Kerri Wyatt.
