AIK brings earns several top finishes

Andalusia Isshinryu Karate competition team members recently competed in the Gulf Coast Martial Arts Championship Series tournament in Crestview.

The tournament series is hosted by Gordon’s Martial Arts and attracts competitors from all over the gulf coast region.

Andalusia had a big day as they came home with 10 first place trophies.

Brianna Walker had a clean sweep as she pick up first place finishes in yellow belt weapons, kata and fighting.

Nicholas Holley came away with a first place finish in yellow belt weapons. Holley came in second place in yellow belt kata and fighting.

Nathan Rooker had a pair of first place finishes in brown belt kata and fighting. Rooker came in second place in brown belt weapons.

Johnathan Rudd earned a first place finished in blue belt weapons.

Braydon Walker picked up first place in finishes kata and fighting. Walker finished in second place in weapons.

Dalton Spears earned second place finishes in youth black belt weapons and fighting.

Camille Holley had a third place finish in women’s black belt fighting.

Kila Thompson came in first place in women’s black belt fighting and a second place finish in kata.

Andalusia Isshinryu will host the 21st Annual South Alabama Karate Open Tournament on June 8th at Straughn High School.
