The Andalusia Rotary Club’s World Championship Domino Tournament is among the events featured in the June-July edition of Garden & Gun magazine.

The domino tournament is included in an article titled “The Southern Agenda,” which suggests interesting summer events throughout the Southern states.

Rotarian Anna Williams Copeland said the magazine reached out to the club through its WCDT Facebook page. Copeland connected the writers with Macky Barnes of Mississippi, who’s won the championship title three times. The article includes trivia about the tournament, including that Bear Bryant previously played the tournament.

This year, the event will be held on Friday and Saturday, July 12 and 13.

The article quotes Barnes with this advice for players, “You better bring you’re a game and all the lucky charms you can fit in you pocket.”
