County BOE hires for fall

The Covington County Board of Education is close to completing its hiring process for the 2019-2020 school year, Superintendent Shannon Driver said Tuesday.

The board accepted the resignations of:

• Zackery Wilson Campbell, as bus driver at Red Level High School.

• Griffin Tucker Windham, as paraprofessional at Straughn Elementary School.

The board voted to employ:

• Valerie T. Gammage, as bus driver at Red Level High School.

• Megan M. Shelnutt, as general social science teacher at Red Level High School.

• Edith Cade Hill, as special education teacher at Straughn Elementary School.

• Susan Anderson Sasser, as lunchroom manager at Straughn High School.

• Janie Lynn Short, as lunchroom manager at Red Level High School.

The board also approved the retirement of Sue J. Nolen, as lunchroom manager at Red Level High School.
