EFFIE ONETA GRAVES WIGGINS
Effie Oneta Graves Wiggins, 97, formerly of Andalusia, Dothan, Ala., and Midland/Odessa, Texas, transitioned peacefully from earth to heaven at her daughter’s home in Franklin, Tenn., on Wed., June 5, 2019, where she had been living since 2009 after the passing of her loving husband of 70 years, Hobson Wiggins.
A visitation will be held on Thurs., June 6, from 5 p.m., until 7 p.m., at The Gate Community Church, 3835 Carothers Pkwy., Franklin, Tenn., 37067. The family will also receive friends at Ward Wilson Funeral Home, 2414 Hartford Hwy., Dothan, Ala., 36305 on Sat., June 8, from 1 p.m., until 2 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life Service. Effie will be laid to rest beside her husband in Memory Hill Cemetery. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Effie was the daughter of the late Mattie Melissa Wise Graves and the late Robert P. Graves of Elba, Ala., and Andalusia, Ala. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her five sisters: Margrite Hornsby, Evelyn Morrow, Alma Graves, Doris Jackson Tew, and Ann Roughton.
Effie was a loving devoted wife, mother and grandmother and a Godly role model to her family. She retired from GTE (Verizon) after 30 years as a supervisor. She was an active and long-time member of First Assembly of God Church. Effie enjoyed music very much and knew every word of every hymn even until her death.
She is survived by her only child, Dianne Wiggins Jordan of Franklin, TN; granddaughter: Tara Leigh Jordan of Florida; grandson: Colby Wiggins Jordan of Dallas, Texas; six great grandchildren: Adrianna (Zack) Hawes, Jeremiah Jordan Luckado, Brianna Shelton, Rhema Martin, Brayden Jordan, and Jackson Jordan; two great great grandchildren: Brandy Luckado and Kaden Luckado; sister: Helen Werts of Montgomery, Ala.; and several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank Amber Mulholland, Carole Turner, and WillowBrook Hospice for the loving care they gave Miss Effie in her final time on this earth.

MARY MELINDA MAYNOR
Mrs. Mary Melinda Maynor, age 62, of Andalusia passed away on Mon., June 3, 2019, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., on Thurs., June 6, 2019, from First United Methodist Church with Brother Scott Stevens officiating; interment will follow in Bethany Cemetery. Visitation was Wednesday evening at Foreman Funeral Home. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to services at the church.
Mrs. Maynor is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Sonny and Sarah Maynor and Jordan and Lauren Maynor all of Andalusia; daughter and son-in-law, Meg and Chase Shelnutt of Andalusia; grandchildren, Cooper Maynor, Parker Maynor, Von Maynor, Owen Shelnutt, Arlen Shelnutt, and Donnie Maynor; father, Earl Manning of Roanoke, Ala.; mother, Mary Manning of Roanoke; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Don Arlen Maynor, Jr.
Pallbearers will be: Chase Shelnutt, Matt Manning, Aaron Barton, David Daniel, David Tatum, Hunter Hobson, Chris Jones, and Jeffrey Douglas.
