Andalusia Church of God’s harvest of plenty is ready to be picked.
Pastor Wesley Cooper said this week that the community garden will have harvest beginning June 18.
“We will have two times,” he said. “Tuesdays and Fridays from 7 a.m. until 10 a.m. and then from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.”
Cooper said someone will be available to pick for those who are unable to do it themselves.
“It’s free to the public,” he said.
The garden is located in a lot beside the church, located at 101 Adellum Drive in Andalusia.
The have planted tomatoes, squash, zucchini, cucumbers, beans, peas and more.
The idea for the garden was a vision from the Lord.
“The Lord was telling me to reach out to the community,” Cooper said. “We have a new guy at church, and he had the same idea I did. We took it before the church and 100 percent voted for it.”
