Those looking for a warm meal on Thursday will have an option that has never come to the local area before.

Leroy Cole, director of the Christian Service Center, said Little Caesars Love Kitchen contacted him and asked if they could bring their truck Thursday to the CSC parking lot on South Three Notch Street.

“It’s an 18-wheeler pizza kitchen,” Cole said. “It provides food for the hungry, homeless and disaster victims.”

Cole said the non-profit called him out of the blue.

“They asked if they could bring their kitchen to our parking lot,” he said. “They also asked about our hungry and homeless.”

Cole said last year alone, the CSC proved 404,000 pound of food to local residents.

The Love Kitchen has been in force for more than 30 years.

According the website, the Love Kitchen has served more than 3 million people, as it travels across the United States to help those in need.

The charity has received the President’s Volunteer Action Award Citation from former Presidents George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton.

Love Kitchen is made possible through donations of resources from Little Caesars franchise owners.

“They have never been to our area,” Cole said. “All you have to do is show up.”

The event will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., Thursday.
