Florala Police captured an escaped Department of Corrections inmate Saturday.

Alabama prison officials announced Saturday they were searching for James Leroy Franklin, who escaped from a Coffee County work release program.

Franklin was serving a 15-year sentence for a felony conviction out of Covington County and has been placed in the Covington County Jail.

He was previously being housed at the DOC work release center in Elba.
