CONNIE JEANETTE PATE TOLBERT

In loving memory of Connie Jeanette Pate Tolbert passed away Monday, July 1, 2019, at Cartersville Medical Center. She was 66.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m., Sun., July 7, 2019, at Cope Keahey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Finklea officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Town Cemetery. Cope Keahey Funeral Home is entrusted with these arrangements. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services.

Connie had a heart of gold. She was a great cook, known for her red velvet cakes. She enjoyed listening to the old gospel songs. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Her husband Narvie Ray Tolbert preceded her in death.

Survivors include her children, Christopher Tolbert, Kimberly Tolbert (West) Harris, and Robert (Christy Wright) Tolbert. Grandchildren include Ayden Tolbert, Landon Tolbert, Faith Tolbert Harris, Cayden Harris, Christian Tolbert, Destiney Tolbert, Hannah Wright Tolbert, and David Losito. Connie had six brothers and two sisters. Preceded in death by her father Curtis Edward Pate and mother Eva May Eppinger (Darryl) and her three brothers Curt Pate Jr., Melivin and Ray Pate. Leaving behind Billy Pate, Ruby Pate Hardin, Clyde Pate (Cornona), Tharon Pate Parker, Scott Pate (Jeannie) and numerous nephews and nieces.

 

TOMMIE RUSSELL

Tommie Russell, 88, of Andalusia, Alabama, went to be with the lord on June 21,2019.

He fought a long battle with cancer. He was born on Sept. 29,1930, to Jobbie & Mattie Russell in Coffee, Ala. He spent the first few years in Alabama.

At the age of seventeen he joined the United States Army and was station at Ft. Richardson And Ft. Wainwright, Ark. Tommie received a honorability discharge. Tommie worked the Alyeska Pipeline In Prudhoe Bay, Valdez Alaska, was a retired Teamsters.

He is survived by two children (Son) Greg Russell of Anchorage, Alaska and his daughter Theresa (Russell) Page of Anchorage, Alaska.

Tommie had 3 grandchildren, Jennifer Russell (Alabama) Allen Page (Kermit, Texas) and Travis Page (Anchorage, Alaska.)

Tommie has one great great grandaugther Aeysha Page (Anchorage, Alaska.) His Beloved Sister Hazel Searcy (Andalusia, Alabama). Numerous nieces and nephews and great great nieces & nephews.

Tommie loved telling stories about his life. He will be missed.

A celebration of life will be held at a later day.

God saw him getting tired, and a cure was not to be – So he put his arms around him and Whispered “Come to me”

 

JUDY ETHEL BARNETT

Mrs. Judy Ethel Barnett, a resident of Wetumpka, Ala., passed away Sun., June 23, 2019, at the age of 61.

Graveside services will be held Fri., July 5, 2019, at 11 a.m., at Mt. Olive Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Perry County, Jeffcoat Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Barnett is survived by her sons, Alex Vopat (Julie) and Jacob Vopat (Ashley); two grandchildren, Ella and Holden Vopat; two sisters, Paula Kaufmann and Marla Battles (Tom) and brother, Mark Barnett (Cheryl) and several nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.

 

DONALD “BART” GOWAN

Mr. Donald “Bart” Gowan, 89, of River Falls, passed away Mon., July 2, 2019, at Andalusia Manor.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Fri., July 5, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with interment in River Falls Cemetery. Visitation was at 1:30 p.m., Friday at Foreman Funeral Home.

He is survived by a daughter, Jean Gowan; a step daughter, Patsy Shelpman; two grandchildren, Peter and Sammie Ruth; and four great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Keith Lynch, Robert Mitchell, Larry Gunter, Mark Gunter, Morgan Rogers, William Capps, and Riley Cravey.

The family request no flowers, memorials may be made to River Falls Baptist Church building fund.

GERALDINE B. GRANTHAM

Mrs. Geraldine B. Grantham, age 93, of Andalusia, passed away on Thu., July 4, 2019, at her residence.

Funeral services for Mrs. Grantham will be held on Sat., July 6, 2019, at 2 p.m., from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Gary Miller officiating the service, interment will follow in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m., prior to services at the funeral home.

She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Elaine and Marion Johnson and Shelia Peek; son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Sandra Grantham; grandchildren, Chris (Jessica) Grantham, Chuck (Kim) Grantham, Kevin Peek, Scotty (Sally) Peek, and Tara (RD) Lloyd; great grandchildren, Brennan Peek, Elsie Peek, Carley McWilliams, Garrett Higgie, Grant Lloyd, Melanie (Avery) Colquett, Nicole (Johnny) Andrews, Parker (Tami) Lloyd, Sean (Lydia) Grantham, Sophie Peek; great-great grandchildren, Aurora Grantham, Ellie Andrews, Peyton Andrews; sister, Annette Roller; and brothers, Jerry Brooks, Pete Brooks, and Rex Brooks.

She is preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Grantham, and parents, Willie and Ruth Brooks.

Pallbearers will be Chris Grantham, Chuck Grantham, Kevin Peek, Grant Lloyd, Parker Lloyd, and Avery Colquett.
