Opp Bobcats looking to bounce back this year

The Opp Bobcats are prepared to open up the 2019 high school football season.

Opp opens up the season on the road with a battle with the Elba Tigers on Aug. 30.

The Bobcats are 45-38 all-time against the Tigers, but Elba won the last year’s game 53-33.

Opp comes home on Oct. 6 for a Class 3A, Region 2 match with the Straughn Tigers.

Straughn leads the series 11-8 including a 36-30 overtime win in 2018.

Opp hits the road to take on Houston Academy on Sept. 13 in a region game.

The Bobcats hold 2-1 record over Houston Academy, but lost last year’s game 52-0.

Opp stays on the road on Sept. 20 for a region game with Geneva.

Opp holds a 36-25-2 record over Geneva.

Geneva won last year’s game 49-33.

Andalusia comes to Opp on Sept. 27.

Andalusia holds a 50-36 record over Opp.

Wicksburg comes to Opp on Oct. 4 for a region game.

Wicksburg is 2-1 all-time against Opp including a 47-0 win last year.

Opp remains at home with a region game against Providence Christian on Oct. 11.

The Bobcats are 2-1 against Providence Christian, but lost last year’s game 61-0.

On Oct. 18, Opp goes to Brundidge for a region game with Pike County.

Pike County is 13-7 against Opp.

Opp closes out region play at home against Slocomb on Oct. 25.

Opp is 2-1 all-time against Slocomb, but Slocomb won last year’s game 47-7.

The final regular season game of the season will put Opp on the road against Luverne on Nov. 1.

The Bobcats are 25-8-1 against Luverne.
