Wildcats suited up for 2019

The Florala Wildcats are ready to make another run at the playoffs as they prepare for the 2019 season.

Florala went 5-6 last year before falling in the first round of the playoffs.

The Wildcats begin the season on Aug. 22 on the road against St. Michael.

Florala holds a 2-0 record against St. Michael and won last year’s game 51-9.

The Wildcats stay on the road on Aug. 30 with a game against Cottage Hill Christian Academy.

Cottage Hill won last year’s game 42-14, which was the first contest between the two schools.

Florala’s home opener will be against Georgiana on Sept. 6. This is also the first Class 1A, Region 2 contest.

Georgiana holds a record over Florala and won last year’s game 35-28.

The Wildcats go on the road on Sept. 13 for a region game with Brantley.

Brantley holds a 22-3 record against Florala.

Elba comes to Florala on Sept. 20 for a region match with the Wildcats.

Elba holds a 15-14-2 record over Florala.

On Sept. 27, the Wildcats will take on Houston Academy in a non-region game.

Florala holds a 4-3 record, but Houston Academy won last year’s game 42-39.

The Wildcats return to region play with a road game against Red Level on Oct. 4.

Florala holds a 36-28 all-time record against Red Level and has won the past two contests.

The Wildcats get back home with a region game against McKenzie on Oct. 11.

Florala holds a 12-11-1 record against McKenzie including a 63-29 win last year.

On Oct. 18, the Wildcats make a road trip to Pleasant Home to take on the Eagles.

Pleasant Home holds a 12-7 record against Florala, but the Wildcats won last year’s game 40-0.

Florala wraps up the season with a home game against Kinston.

Florala won last year’s game 35-0 and holds a 16-15 record over Kinston.
