Straughn eager to compete

The Straughn Lady Tigers are eager to begin the 2019 volleyball season later this month.

Straughn opens the season on the road on Aug. 22 in Goshen beginning at 4:30 p.m.

The Lady Tigers will compete in the Amelia Rhodes Tournament in Kinston on Aug. 24.

All matches begin at 4 p.m.

Straughn’s home opener will be on Aug. 27 when they take on T.R. Miller.

On Aug. 29, the Lady Tigers travel to Pleasant Home for a match.

W.S. Neal will come to Straughn on Sept. 3.

The Lady Tigers stay at home on Sept. 5 when they battle it out with Andalusia.

Straughn will travel to Geneva on Sept. 10.

The Lady Tigers open up Class 3A, Area 4 play when they travel to Opp on Sept. 12 for a battle with the Lady Bobcats.

Straughn stays in area play when they travel to Pike County on Sept. 16.

On Sept. 19, the Lady Tigers travel to Brewton to take on T.R. Miller.

Straughn’s junior varsity team will play in the W.S. Neal JV tournament on Sept. 21.

Andalusia comes to Straughn on Sept. 24 for a non-conference game.

On Sept. 28, Straughn will host their own tournament.

Pike County travels to Straughn for an area match on Oct. 1.

The Lady Tigers close out area play on Oct. 3 when the Opp Lady Bobcats come to Straughn.

Straughn’s varsity team will compete in the Goshen tournament on Oct. 5.

The Lady Tigers will play a tri-match with Geneva and Goshen on Oct. 8 in Straughn.

Straughn will travel to Brewton to battle W.S. Neal on Oct. 15.
