Veterans across the area will be honored Friday at South Alabama Regional Airport.

SARA executive director Jed Blackwell said that the annual military appreciation day will be Aug. 9, from 10:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m.

All active duty or retired military personnel will receive a free grilled steak dinner at the café on site.

“We usually have 200-250 veterans come,” Blackwell said. “It’s for anyone who has ever served.”

Blackwell said anyone who is not active duty or retired military may still eat that day.

Regular buffet without steak is $9.75 and buffet with one 12 ounce ribeye is $16.75.
