STRIVING FOR GREATNESS: Former Bulldogs grinding at Vanderbilt

Former Andalusia standouts Allan George, B.J. Anderson and Will Clark are battling for playing time this year for the Vanderbilt Commodores.

During fall camp, all three have seen significant action as they prepare to open up the season.

The Vanderbilt football team will host its annual “Dore Jam” today at the Vanderbilt Multipurpose Facility.

Dore Jam will be held from 3-5 p.m.

Vanderbilt head Derek Mason and the Vanderbilt football team will be on hand to greet fans and sign free 2019 schedule posters that will be distributed at the facility entrance.

The first 2,000 fans will be able to create their own T-shirt from Hip Hues.

There will be face painters, balloon artist, Mr. C and Commodore spirit leaders will be there to entertain young fans.

There will also be inflatables, obstacle courses, soccer skee balls and a kicking station.

Vanderbilt’s season is a daunting task straight out of the gate.

The Commodores open up the season at home on Aug. 31 when they host the defending SEC East champion Georgia Bulldogs. That game will be played at 6:30 p.m., on SEC Network.

Vanderbilt goes on the road on Sept. 7 when they travel to take on Perdue at 11 a.m.

The Commodores return home on Sept. 21 for a conference game against the LSU Tigers.

Northern Illinois comes to Nashville on Sept. 28 for a non-confernce game against the Commodores.

Vanderbilt goes on the road to play a conference game against Ole Miss on Oct. 5.

The Commodores take a break from conference play on Oct. 12 with a home game against the University of Nevada Las Vegas.

Vanderbilt returns to conference play with a home battle against the Missouri Tigers on Oct. 19.

The Commodores go on the road for a conference battle on Nov. 2 when they take on the South Caroline Gamecocks.

Vanderbilt stays on the road against the Florida Gators for a conference game on Nov. 9.

The Kentucky Wildcats come to Nashville on Nov. 16 for a conference game.

East Tennessee State comes to town for the final non-conference game of the regular season on Nov. 23.

The Commodores finish up the regular season on the road for a conference game with the Tennessee Volunteers on Nov. 30.
