Dezra R. King, 39, the suspect of an estimated $9,000 robbery in Opp, turned herself in to authorities on Tuesday of this week.

On July 10, 2019, a homeowner of a residence on Brookside Drive reported that someone stole furniture and appliances from within the residence.

“The homeowner said her son was living in the home at the time,” OPD Chief Kevin Chance said. “The homeowner was about to evict all four of the people staying there and then the items came up missing.”

On Aug. 13, King was charged and arrested for theft of property first after she confessed to investigators.

“We would like to thank the Elba Police Department for assisting us in this investigation,” Chance said.
