Red Level eager to start the season

The Red Level Tigers and the Zion Chapel Rebels will begin the 2019 football season on Friday night in Zion Chapel.

This is the fourth time that Zion Chapel and Red Level have meet on the football field.

Zion Chapel holds a 2-1 lifetime record against the Tigers including winning last year’s contest 40-33.

Randy Bryant is entering his third season at Zion Chapel and Kenny Skipper is entering his third season at Red Level.

The Rebels finished the 2018 season with a 5-5 record and was 2-5 in Class 2A, Region 3 play.

Zion Chapel finished in sixth place in Class 2A, Region 3.

Zion Chapel scored 220 total points in 2018 and gave up 345 points.

Red Level finished the 2018 season with a 5-5 record and was 3-4 in Class 1A, Region 2 play.

The Tigers just missed the playoffs last season after finishing in fifth place in Class 1A, Region 2 play.

Red Level scored 221 total points in 2018 and gave up 345 points.

Red Level and Zion Chapel played several of the same opponents last season.

Red Level and Zion Chapel both played and beat the Kinston Bulldogs.

Red Level beat Kinston 41-40 and Zion Chapel beat Kinston 37-12.

Red Level and Zion Chapel both played and beat the Pleasant Home Eagles.

Red Level beat Pleasant Home 15-14 and Zion Chapel beat Pleasant Home 34-14.

Red Level and Pleasant Home both played and beat Calhoun.

Red Level beat Calhoun 54-0 and Zion Chapel beat Calhoun 46-6.
