Paxton local Gracy R. Black, 19, was arrested for criminal endangerment of a child after confessing to using methamphetamine while she was five months pregnant in Florala on Tuesday.
On Sept. 10, Deputy Zach Neitsch with the Covington County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by Officer Greg McGraw on a traffic stop on Johnson Quarters Road near Florala.
During the stop, a bottle of what is believed to be methamphetamine was located along with measuring scales.
Black was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal endangerment of a child. She is currently being held on a $263,000 bond.
“Deputy Neitsch and Officer McGraw done a great job looking past the stop and working as a team.” Sheriff Blake Turman said. “I commend them on a job well done, and the possibility of getting a young mother some help.”
