What started as a small support group for men has turned into a men’s meeting that has reached more than 12,000 men.

Iron Work’s Old School Men’s Meeting began in late 2013 when a small group of men asked one simple question. “How can we reach men with the Gospel of Jesus?”

Last night was meeting 60 for the group, finishing five years of ministry.

“It’s hard to believe that five years of reaching men in this unique environment have passed,” Mark Perry said. “During that time we’ve seen more than 12,000 men come through the doors to enjoy a time of fellowship, meal, music and message.”

Over the years, Perry said they have heard some interesting stories.

“Because of those men sharing their story, more than 200 men have been changed, families have been changed, churches have been changed and communities have been changed,” Perry said. “Why? Because of the Gospel of Jesus Christ changes hearts and lives.”

Perry said men have stepped away to be part of other ministry endeavors and men have stepped up to join in with that Christ is up to in Iron Works.

“Through it all, we’ve had one purpose in mind,” Perry said. “Reaching men with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and providing an environment that says, ‘You are welcome here, we love you, we care about you. No matter where you’ve been or what you’re struggling with, you matter.’”

He prays that God will continue to lead him as they build the Kingdom through this unique ministry endeavor.

“May it never be about Iron works or Mark Perry,” Perry said. “May it be about him and nothing else. May it be about building The Kingdom.”
