BETTY JEAN BEVERLY

Mrs. Betty Jean Beverly, 76, of Red Level, passed away Fri., Sept. 20, 2019, at Andalusia Hospital.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Mon., Sept. 23, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Tyler Ingram officiating the service. The interment will be in Morrow Church Cemetery above Georgiana. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., Monday at Foreman Funeral Home.

She is survived by her husband, Fred C. Beverly of Red Level; one daughter, Vicki Beverly of Red Level; her grandchildren, Darshana Phillips of Montgomery, Zack Owens of Andalusia, Kelley Jo Johns of Texas; five great grandchildren, Zavier Phillips, Zoey Phillips, Colton Johns, Reagan Owens, Ridge Owens; two sisters, Irene Grant and husband Gene of Ft. Mead, Fla., Rachel Vickery of Red Level.

She is preceded in death by her son, Fred Carlton Beverly, Jr.; three brothers, James Merritt, Jack Merritt, Dewayne Merritt; and brother-in-law, Winfred Vickery.

Pallbearers will be Kyle Adams, Waylon Browder, Todd Smith, Richard Marler, Brad Vickery, and Zack Owens.

SUE VICK STARLEY

Mrs. Sue Vick Starley, 77, of the Heath community, passed away Fri., Sept. 20, 2019, in Pensacola, Fla., after a long, hard battle with cancer.

“Susie” was born Oct. 9, 1941, to Frank and Carrie Lee Vick in Red Level.  She loved gardening and cats all her life, having rescued hundreds over the years.  Susie wrote a column in Bonaire, Ga., for the Daily Sun and served as a Cadet Scout Leader.  In 1993, she moved back home to Andalusia and spent the rest of her years here.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Tue., Sept. 24, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., Tuesday at Foreman Funeral Home.

She is survived by her son, Preston Chesser of Pensacola, Fla.; two daughters, Victoria (Terry) Randolph of Augusta, Ga., Lori (Den) Couturie’ of Andalusia; five grandchildren, William Chesser, United States Navy, Alex (Isabella) Lowery, United States Air Force, William Jack (Rachel) Lowery, Jessica Randolph of Augusta, Ga., Kaitlyn Randolph of Ventura, CA; one great-grandson, Levi Lowery; a brother, John (Faye) Vick; a dear long-time friend, Patsy Hinson; a special caregiver of five years, Katrina Counts; and also a much loved friend who was always there, Jennifer at Dr Younkouma’s office.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Carrie Vick; her husband James Starley, Sr.; daughter-in-law, Pamela Chesser; and brother, Jimmy Frank Vick.

At Mrs. Starley’s request, memorials may be made to Sovereign Grace Church in Gantt or Andalusia Animal Shelter.

 

SCOTT EVAN WILLSON

After a long and hard fight with brain cancer, Mr. Scott Evan Willson, aged 54 of Andalusia, earned his wings on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at South East Medical Center of Dothan.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday afternoon, Sept. 22, 2019, at Northern Height Baptist church with a visitation at the church starting at 1 p.m.,

Reverend Jonathan Jones will officiate the service. Interment will be at Abel Cemetery in Gantt Alabama. Visitation will be from 6 p.m., until 8 p.m., Sat., Sept. 21, 2019, at Foreman Funeral Home.

Mr. Scott Evan Willson is survived by his wife; Carolyn Willson, three daughters; Lindsey Jones (Jonathan) of Andalusia, Brooke Jones (Evan) of Andalusia, and Hannah Riley of Andalusia, one son, Seth Stewart of Andalusia, his seven grandchildren; Judah Asher Jones, Rhema Grace Jones, Abel Banner Jones, Shilo Rose Jones, Naomi Hope Jones, Logan William Cunningham, and Jamison Evan Jones. His mother, Willie Mae Willson of Andalusia, his sisters, Cynthia Willson of Andalusia, Bev Cooper of Andalusia, and Sandra Montanaro (Tim) of Newnan Georgia, three brothers; Marvin (Judy) Willson of Hawaii, Mike Willson of Hawaii, and Len (Kathy) Willson of Bossier City, Louisiana.

He is preceded in death by his father, Ansel M. Willson and his brother-in-law, Tony Cooper.

Pallbearers will be Seth Stewart, Dillon Roland, Evan Jones, Bobby Johns, Eric Arnold and Robert Mitchell.
