Mobile’s Lee Stockman and Keisha Lott are coming to the Candyland Half Marathon and 5K as runners, but they are also coming to tie the knot at Candyland.

They also want South Alabama Santa to pronounce them husband and wife after the race.

The couple met at Christ United Methodist Church.

“I used to participate in various runs and triathlons and my wife just became a runner and I got back into running after needing to make a lifestyle change due to being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes,” Stockman said.

But what made the pair choose Andalusia as their destination?

“Initially we were going to sign up for my first half marathon and participate in the various Candyland activities then it morphed into a wedding and honeymoon destination that includes a run,” he said.

The couple plans to stay through Sunday of the week of the run.

Stockman said his favorite part of Candyland is the run, but that he’s very positive that the whole Candyland experience will be his favorite since it’s their first Candyland.

The run is Dec. 14.

Andalusia Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Chrissie Duffy said that it’s a huge honor that someone would take a day and event as important as their wedding and share it with the people at Candyland.

“We are so honored,” she said.
