Two local residents were killed in a car crash in Okaloosa County on Sunday evening.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, A 2012 Kia Rio driven by 27-year-old Taylor Willis (Miller) of Dozier was traveling north on State Road 189, approximately a half-mile south of Joe Jordan Road in Baker.

A 2007 Dodge 2500 driven by Jeremy Richardson of Baker was traveling south on State Road 189 in the same location.

According to the Highway Patrol, Willis’ vehicle failed to maintain the lane and drifted into the southbound lane, but Willis steered her vehicle back into the northbound lane.

Simultaneously, Richardson steered his vehicle into the northbound lane to attempt to avoid a collision.

Both vehicles collided head-on in the northbound lane.

Willis was transported to North Okaloosa Medical Center, but died en route to the hospital.

Her passenger, 22-year-old Hannah Miller of Andalusia was pronounced dead at the scene.

Richardson sustained minor injuries.

All three were wearing their seatbelts and alcohol is not a fact, according to the accident report.

A GoFundMe account has been set up to pay for funeral expenses, as there was no life insurance for Taylor McClellan Miller, whose husband JD Miller is a Covington County Sheriff’s Office reserve deputy.

The GoFundMe goal is $12,000, and so far, $575 had been raised.
