Lady Tigers win Brantley Tournament

The Straughn High school Lady Tigers basketball team improves to 11-1 after beating Brantley High School in the final of the Brantley Christmas Tournament this weekend, 38-23.
The Lady Tigers defeated Luverne for their trip to the championship 43-45.
Allie Kelley led the scoring effort for the Lady Tigers with 17 points.
Kelsey Kelley had 12 and Anna Spears and Ansley Montgomery had four points.
“The girls played well in battling back to get back in the game from creating a deficit in the second quarter,” Head coach Brad Stephens said. “The girls played hard and did what they needed to do to win.”
In the championship game, Kelsey Kelley led the scoring effort for the Lady Tigers with 14 points and Allie Kelley had 12 points.
“The girls played really well,” Stephens said. “To beat a team three times is hard to do. Brantley is a good team and they played hard.”
