All is Well Health and Inspirations is sponsoring a Whole Body Health class with clinical herbalist Cheryl Stone this weekend.

“This class has been inspired by one of my previous clients’ sister,” Stone said. “She came to me and actually wanted to know if I could be something like a health coach. It just kind of inspired me to be there for people.”

Stone said she has always tried to make things simple for people.

“If you go into all of the scientific terminology, you lose people,” Stone said. “If you talk above peoples’ heads they just aren’t going to understand it, so I try to make it as simple as possible, where anybody can understand it. I mostly teach simple ways and small changes to help people.”

Every dollar that is spent on health, Stone said people save three dollars later in medical expenses.

“You could save on anything from medical expenses to pharmaceuticals,” Stone said. “In my opinion, when we get sick, we are not deficient in medicine. So, I feel like if I can help teach people even the smallest things, it could lead them toward a better life.”

Stone believes that to an extent there should be a balance between pharmaceuticals and natural healthcare.

“I feel like herbalists need doctors and doctors need herbalists,” Stone said. “A lot of doctors just haven’t realized that they need us so much yet. We just need people that teach nutrition, because I have talked with several doctors and they said that they don’t take a lot of nutrition courses in medical school. We all know that what we put in our bodies is what we get out, but I like to go a step further and say what we put into what we are eating is what we get out.”

Instead of teaching people fad resolution diets, Stone wants to help people increment healthy eating into their lifestyles daily.

“I want to teach them things that they can increment in small doses on a daily basis,” Stone said. “But it is always good to recharge, even if it is for a couple of weeks, which is why I never put down anybody that starts a New Year’s resolution.”

The one thing that Stone wants people to take away from the class is knowledge.

“Knowledge is the one thing that you cannot take away,” Stone said. “I think it is just important to love thy neighbor and help each other out.”

Stone went to the Eclectic School of Herbal Medicine for three years and graduated in 2013.

The event is set for this Saturday beginning at 11 a.m. It is free to the public.
