Molly Gordon Fowler, age 65, of Andalusia, AL, passed away peacefully at her home on April 13, 2020.  She was surrounded by her family.

Molly is survived by her husband of 26 years, Jimmy Fowler, her father David Gordon (Irvington, AL), her children Bryant (Ginny) Carter (Destin, FL), David (Hannah) Carter (Andalusia, AL), and Elizabeth (Kevin) Griffin (Andalusia, AL).  Her siblings Fan (Ken) Murray, Dave Gordon, and Lewis (Jeannine) Gordon, all of Mobile, AL.  Three stepchildren Lisa (Bobby) Cobb (Baker, FL), Tracy (Michael) Walden (Andalusia, AL), and Meredith (Brock) Beck (Brantley, AL).  She was a LaLa to her 8 grandchildren, Amanda Ellisor, Jessica McCraney, Ivy Bryant, Adam Carlisle, Blake Carlisle, Charlie Kate Carter, Caroline Griffin, and Molly Quinn Carter.  Molly had a special relationship with her nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her mother, Rebecca Gordon.

The family will have a private gathering Thursday, April 16, 2020, at 10 AM at Foreman Funeral Home and a graveside service will be held at 11 AM at Andalusia Memorial Cemetery with Brother Tyler Ingram officiating.

Covid-19 guidelines will be followed by keeping a distance of six ft from one another.

Molly was born in Montgomery, AL on September 4th, 1954.  She was raised in Irvington, AL with her three siblings by a father who loved golf and a mother who spent most of her time sewing.  Not surprisingly, she excelled at both of her parents hobbies.  Molly and her siblings grew up in a very outgoing family who never met a stranger. She has always been known to light up any room, have a smile on her face, and has been loved by everyone who knew her.

She attended Theodore High School, Class of 1972. She was a varsity cheerleader and voted Class Favorite.

Molly was a third generation seamstress and master of  French hand sewing and smocking. She had countless requests for Easter dresses, Christening gowns, day gowns for newborns to wear home from the hospital, and many other special orders. She taught sewing classes throughout the years, which allowed her to display her outgoing personality and skills. If she had a baby shower to attend, you could bet her gift would be a smocked day gown. However, her highest priority was making sure her three granddaughters had at least one new dress for every season and holiday.

Molly married Jimmy Fowler, the love of her life, on September 3, 1993. They enjoyed playing golf together, going camping, being with friends and family, and hosting Alabama football parties. Molly received her nursing degree from Troy University in 1996.  In 2006, she received her Real Estate license and used that big personality of hers to meet new people and show them homes. Molly was a two-time Women’s Golf Club Champion at Andalusia Country Club and was a long time member of the Women’s Golf Association. Molly was also a fantastic cook and always made sure to have  everyone’s favorite dish at every occasion. She was a member of Buck Creek Baptist Church, a Christian, and loved the Lord with all of her heart.

Pallbearers include: Adam Carlisle, Blake Carlisle, Kevin Griffin, Taylor Griffin, Bob Carter and Wayne Bush.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Red Cross or Comfort Care Hospice.

Family and friends may sign the online register at www.foremanfuneralhome.com.
