LARRY F. MULLEN

Mr. Larry F. Mullen, 74, of Andalusia, passed away Friday November 6, 2020.

Funeral services will be at 2 PM Tuesday November 10th at Southside Baptist Church with Brother Gary Miller officiating and Foreman Funeral Home directing.  Visitation will begin at 1 PM Tuesday at Southside Baptist Church.  Interment will follow services at Andalusia Memorial Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Gail Mullen; one son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Christina Mullen; one daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Billy Doster; his grandchildren, Drew Doster, Hayden McLeod, Josh Doster, Megan Williamson; two great grandchildren, Natalie McLeod and Sawyer Williamson; his brother, Terry Mullen and wife Robbie of Madrid, AL and sister and brother-in-law, Gayle and Dannie Hughes of Andalusia.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank “Beetsey” Mullen and Lucille Chavers Mullen; a sister, Brenda Park and brother, Tim Mullen.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Megan Kelley Smiles Foundation, P. O. Box 1416, Andalusia, AL  36420.

Pallbearers will be Brad Hughes, Clint Hughes, Ricky Counts, Wayne Bennett, Larry Adams, Drew Doster, and Josh Doster.

RICHARD D. WHEELER

Mr. Richard D. Wheeler, Sr. of 71, of Gantt, passed away Tuesday November 3, 2020 in Pensacola, FL.

Graveside services will be at 2 PM Thursday November 12th at Heath Cemetery with Minister Terry Stewart officiating and Foreman Funeral Home directing.  Visitation will begin at 12:30 pm Thursday at Foreman Funeral Home.

He is survived by his son, Richard D. Wheeler, Jr.; one daughter, Lisa Wheeler; and the mother of his children, Sharon L. Wheeler of Niagara Falls, NY; five grandchildren, Richard D. (Chasity) Wheeler, III, Johnathon Leone, Jennifer Neely, Kenneth (Ashley) Burns, Amber (Taran) Arcara; four great grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Merle Phillips, Pearl Wheeler both of Andalusia; two brothers, Edmon J. Wheeler of Milton, FL and Rayford Wheeler of Dothan, AL.

Pallbearers will be Blake Worley, Brant Worley, Todd Godwin, Robert Phillips, Andrew Oliver, Kenny Wheeler.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bunk, Kenny, and Leonard.

AMMA LILLIS DRINKARD JORDAN

Amma Lillis Drinkard Jordan, age 92, of Mansfield, Texas, passed away peacefully at her home on November 3, 2020. She was surrounded by her loving husband and son at the time of her passing.

She was laid to rest at Magnolia Cemetery in Andalusia, Alabama on November 11, 2020 during a small graveside service attended by immediate family members.  The service is scheduled to begin at 10 AM.

Amma was born in Pike County to Lorene Gibbons Drinkard and William Emory Drinkard on June 24, 1928.    She attended Goshen High School, graduating in 1945 as the Valedictorian of her class.  She married Milton Ray (Sam) Jordan on June 24, 1955 in Miami, Florida.  Their journey together took them on an exciting adventure as they moved throughout the country following his career as a Civil Engineer.   They resided in Montgomery, Alabama; New Orleans, Louisiana (twice); Houston, Texas (twice); Birmingham, Alabama; Whittier and Orange, California; Boise, Idaho; Richmond, Virginia and finally Austin, Texas before finally retiring in Montgomery, Texas. Even then, they moved on to Willis, Texas and Mobile, Alabama before finally settling in Mansfield, Texas near their son and daughter-in-law for the last dozen years of her life.

Amma worked steadily before their marriage and throughout the 1950s and 1960s as a legal secretary before giving up her career in 1968 to raise her son.   She was an avid reader, painter and gardener who created beautiful spaces both inside and outside  each one of her homes.

Amma is preceded in death by her parents, Lorene Gibbons Drinkard and William Emory Drinkard.

Amma is survived by her husband, Milton Ray (Sam) Jordan of Mansfield, Texas; son, Paul André (Andy) Jordan, of Mansfield, Texas;  daughter-in-law, Stacy Ranstrom Jordan, of Mansfield, Texas; sister, Ada Drinkard Vines, of Montgomery, Alabama; and brothers Charles Marion Drinkard, of Mobile, Alabama; James Colley Drinkard, of Mobile, Alabama and Lamar Gibbons Drinkard of China Grove, Alabama.

Mr. Wayne Grissett, age 86 of Andalusia, passed away on Tuesday, November 3rd, 2020 at a local hospital.

Funeral services for Mr. Grissett will be held Friday, November 6th, 2020 at 11AM at Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brandon Peacock officiating. Visitation will begin 1 hour prior to services.

Survivors include his wife Mrs. Margaret Grissett of Andalusia; his daughters, Sherry Green (David) of Jefferson, GA, Fredia Smith (Dewayne) of Andalusia; a son-in-law, Charlie Messick of Andalusia; 4 grandchildren, Ashley Grimsley, Anna Dwileski, Kristin Merrell, and Christopher Messick; 5 great-grandchildren; a brother, Wendell Grissett of Universal City, TX; and a sister, Jeanne Blair of Andalusia.

Pallbearers will be David Green, Dewayne Smith, Charlie Messick, Christopher Messick, Joey Grimsley, and Aaron Dwileski.

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

MONROE HARRY COOLEY

Mr. Monroe Harry Cooley Sr. of Andalusia passed away Sunday, November 8, 2020.  Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 11, 2020, at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service.  Interment will follow at New Home Baptist Church Cemetery. Left to cherish his memory, wife, Betty Jean Cooley; sons, Ricky (Rebekah) Cooley, Marty Cooley, Victor Cooley, step-son, Steve (Cindy) Webb, and son-in-law, Steve Dunn; one sister, Katherine Cooley Hosford; five grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren. Mr. Cooley was preceded in death by his first wife, Nettie Davis Cooley. Keahey Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
