CCBOE sets textbook committee

The Covington County Board of Education met for a regularly scheduled meeting Tuesday.
During the meeting the board appointed a Covington County Schools Textbook Committee for the 2021-2022 school year and approved purchasing a total of five 2022 or newer class “C” 72 passenger buses at the current bid price of $78,544.72 each.

Retirement:
- David A. Clark as career tech teacher at Red Level School effective Dec. 31, 2021
Resignation:
- Judy Fay Wall as pre-K auxiliary teacher at Straughn Elementary School effective Dec. 17, 2021
Leave of Absence:
- The board granted a medical leave of absence with benefits under the Family Medical Leave Act to James K. Russell, bus driver at Straughn High School, for the months of November and December to care for his spouse.
In other business, the board adopted changes to the system’s Wellness Policy.
The board set the next meeting for Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2022, at 5:30 p.m. in the conference room at the central office.
