Oleander 2 Civic Club prepares for first HBCU fair

The Oleander 2 Civic and Social Club, legacies of the Oleander Club continue to follow and build on the mission and purpose of their founding Mothers as they prepare to host the Inaugural Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) and Career Fair.
The Oleander 2 Civic and Social Club, established in 2004 is an organization dedicated to advocating on behalf of persons throughout the community by providing programs and services in the empowerment areas of education, health, economic, gender equity, and leadership development. The organization is committed to empowering individuals to fully achieve the opportunities, benefits, and rewards of our society.
Saturday, March 19, 2022, on the campus of Lurleen B. Wallace Community College, the organization will have a presence from HBCUs, USDA Forest Service, other agencies and individuals providing information on the course and degree programs, internships and job opportunities, essay writing tips for college applications and scholarships, tips on searching for scholarships, and financial aid processes. Registration will be from 9:00 AM – 9:45 AM with the Opening Plenary session beginning at 9:45 AM and the event ending at 3:30 PM. Registration and the Opening Plenary session will convene in the Martha and Solon Dixon Center for the Performing Arts. We are extremely excited to be able to provide all these opportunities for information in one spot, so it is like a one-stop shopping opportunity.
