WOW West-World of Work organized by Southeast AlabamaWorks held its most recent event in Andalusia last week and had 2,614 students in attendance.

Area businesses and educators came together to offer students from Butler, Coffee, Covington, Crenshaw, Geneva, and Pike counties a look into the career opportunities in high-demand occupations in Southeast Alabama.

Students learned about career tech opportunities from those in the field as well as career tech directors and instructors.

Students were given the chance to try out many of the career tech options through hands-on activities led by LBW career tech directors and instructors.

The industry “worlds” included Agriculture/Agribusiness, Automotive Technology, Construction, Education, Health Services, Manufacturing, Professional Services, Public Services, Utilities, and Transportation and Logistics.

The WOW West committee extended a special thank you to LBWCC for all of the student volunteers who helped set up and tear down at the event.
