Revenue Commissioner, George L. (Chuck) Patterson Jr., along with his staff at the Covington County Revenue Commission, is reminding residents that property tax payments are due by Dec. 31 each year. Delinquent parcels are sold at the Annual Tax Sale each year.

Patterson and his staff strongly encourage taxpayers and those who have purchased property to ensure their property taxes are paid prior to the sale. The Annual Tax Sale is set to occur on May 18, 2022, at the legal hours of the sale. The list of current delinquent parcels can be found in the Saturday, April 16 edition of the Andalusia Star-News. Please check the list to ensure someone you know is not on it.

Payments can be made through the United States Postal Service, online at www.covcounty.com, or in person at the Revenue Commission office inside the Covington County Courthouse.

Be advised there is a 2.35 percent service fee for all credit/ debit card transactions. No personal checks are accepted during the months of April and May. The office will accept certified checks and money orders for no additional fee.
