The Covington County Master Gardeners will host their annual plant sale Saturday, May 7, from 7 am until noon in conjunction with Andalusia Farmers Market on the square.

Alabama Master Gardeners are trained volunteers who help county and regional extension agents address home grounds calls and concerns. These volunteers also serve their communities through education in environmental sciences, using plant clinics, demonstration gardens, phone information, community projects and more.

Proceeds from the annual plant sale are used toward these missions.

There will be a great variety of plants to choose from this year, many of which are propagated by the Master Gardeners themselves. These include but are not limited to:

Angelonia, Society Garlic, Daylilies, Stokes Aster, Hosta, Nandina, Artemisia, Aloe Vera, Red Yarrow, Oregano, Purple Bee Balm, Mint, Fortnight lily, Aspidistra, ornamental sweet potato vine, Purple heart, Louisiana Iris, Purple Salvia, Bulbine, Obedient plant, Dogwood, Red Maple, and Redbud.

The Master Gardeners encourage the public to come support the sale this weekend, and while they are there they can learn more about upcoming community events planned for this year.
