Mr. William “Billy” Bryan of Andalusia passed away Friday, May 20, 2022, at his residence.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 23, 11 a.m., at Babbie Baptist Church. Rev. Duane Seay officiated. Special music was provided by Dennis and Tina O’Neal and Patrick Farmer. Interment followed in the Babbie Baptist Church Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Jeff Spivey, Judd Spivery, Beau Spivery, Jon Spivey, Willie Furr, Corey Bryan, and Corey Brooks.
Honorary pallbearers were Larry Norris, Rex Farmer, Lamar Bass, and Ricky Baldwin. Memorial contributions can be made to the charity of one’s choice or one’s local church.
Keahey Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.
Left to cherish his memory include, his loving wife, Judy Bryan; sons, William Brandon Bryan (Malissa) of Fayette, Alabama, William Jason Bryan of California; grandchildren, Matthew McKay Bryan of Fayette, and Tyler Reid Bryan, University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa; brothers, Jerry Bryan (Anita) of Opp and Mike Baxley (Tami) of Opp; brother-in-law, Roger Spivey (Dianne) of Opp; fur babies, Rufus, Lillie Belle, and Gracie Bea.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Ray Bryan and Sara Mae Wallace Bryan Baxley.
Billy was born in Opp and was a 1968 graduate of Opp High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Jacksonville State University with a major in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. Immediately after college graduation, he was hired by Fruit of the Loom Corporation. He remained with them until he took an early retirement. At retirement, he was a company manager over the loom division. During his years at Fruit of the Loom, he traveled extensively. He did not remain retired long and after moving back to Andalusia he soon started a second career with Lockheed Martin in Troy and later retired for a second time. Golfing was a favorite hobby. Mr. Bryan faithfully served in the Army Reserves for eight years. He will be greatly missed.
