James was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He worked for the United States Postal Service in Andalusia for 36 years in many different capacities. He was a wonderful bass singer who greatly enjoyed singing Sacred Harp and traveled to singings throughout the South. He was also an ordained minister in the Primitive Baptist faith.
Papa, as he was affectionately known to his grandchildren, had a love of the Truth. His humble spirit and love for his family served as an inspiration to all who knew him. He was a good and faithful servant until the end.
