The Covington County Board of Education accepted two bids for improvements at two schools and made 17 additional personnel changes during a regularly scheduled board meeting Tuesday, June 7.

The board accepted a bid from Moore Builders for re-bid of the baseball and softball dressing rooms at Red Level School at a total bid price of $138,977. The board also accepted a bid from Mid-State Construction, LLC for a new retro-fit roof for Straughn Middle School at a total bid price of $695,773.

• Stephanie Machay Jordan as staff assistant at Fleeta Junior High School effective at the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year, pending verification of new or existing background reviews
• Nancy Tamar Blanton Wilson as math interventionist at FJHS effective at the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year, pending verification of new or existing background reviews
• Carrie Leigh Butts as staff assistant at FJHS effective at the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year, pending verification of new or existing background reviews
• Kellie Ann Powell as elementary teacher at Pleasant Home School effective at the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year, pending verification of new or existing background reviews
• Kathy Robbins as elementary teacher at PHS effective at the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year, pending verification of new or existing background reviews
• Randall Fred-Neal Hunt as elementary teacher at Red Level School effective at the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year, pending verification of new or existing background reviews
• Whitney Vaughn Turvin as special education teacher at Straughn Elementary School effective at the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year, pending verification of new or existing background reviews
• Cindy Ann Meadows as custodian at Straughn Middle School effective at the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year, pending verification of new or existing background reviews
• Deborah Young Parrish as English teacher at Straughn High School effective at the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year, pending verification of new or existing background reviews
• Mary Harrison as staff assistant at W.S. Harlan Elementary School effective at the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year, pending verification of new or existing background reviews
• Julie Amanda Moody Dillard as special education teacher at WSH effective at the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year, pending verification of new or existing background reviews
• Kaylon Julia Hudson as lunchroom worker at RLS effective at the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year, pending verification of new or existing background reviews

Resignation:

• Courtney M. Slaughter as elementary teacher at PHS retroactive to May 27
• Courtney Nicole Smith as custodian at PHS retroactive to May 27
• Randall Hunt as paraprofessional at RLS retroactive to May 27

Transfer:

• Courtney Ingram Williamson from lunchroom worker to paraprofessional at RLS effective at the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year
• Emily Wood Rambo from intervention teacher at FJHS to elementary teacher at SES effective at the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year

In other business:

• The board heard a presentation of an audit report for the fiscal year ending Sept. 30, 2021, given by a representative from the Examiners of Public Accounts.
• The board adopted salary schedules for employees in the 2022-2023 school year, effective July 1.

The board set two possible dates for the next meeting to be held either Monday, June 27, or Tuesday, June 28 at noon.
