Wanda Jean Cone (aka Cook), 70, of Wilmer, Alabama and formerly of Opp, was lifted to her eternal home with our Lord and Savior on July 30, 2022.
Wanda grew up in Mobile, Alabama and Georgia before moving with her family to Opp where she graduated from Opp High School in 1971. She worked at Covington Industries in Opp as well as Shaw Industries in Andalusia. She loved cooking, singing, playing the guitar, enjoying time with friends and family, and making everyone around her laugh.
Wanda was preceded in death by her mother, Vida Cone; her father, Dewey Wesley Cone; sisters Martha Ann Mack and Julia Cone O’neal.
She is survived by her sisters, Donna Bookout and Norma Deaton; daughters, Lisa Michelle Adamson (Brian) and April Joy Long (Ronnie); son, Donald Wesley Cook (Kristy); and her beloved grandchildren, Christian Edward Cauley, Emily and JW Cook, Kenli Elizabeth Catrett, and Chance Ronnie Long.
Wanda requested a celebration of life service be held in lieu of traditional funeral services. The family requests all of Wanda’s loved ones to join them in celebrating her beautiful life at First Baptist Church of Opp in the Fellowship Hall located at 110 E. Hart Ave. in Opp on August 27, 2022 at 10:30 a.m.
