Carolyn Sanders, age 88 of Andalusia, passed away in a local hospital on August 28, 2022.

Funeral services were Wednesday, August 31, 11 a.m., at Foreman-Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Miller officiating and Mark Rudd providing music. Interment followed at Andalusia Memorial Cemetery. Visitation was held Tuesday, August 30, 6:30 p.m., at Foreman Funeral Home.

Mrs. Sanders is preceded in death by her parents, R.H. Patterson and Addie Ruth Patterson: her husband of 64 years, Horace Mixon Sanders; and a daughter, Sandolyn Joyce Sanders.

Mrs. Sanders is survived by two sons: David Sanders of Andalusia and Alan (Marie) Sanders of Montgomery, grandchildren: Deanna (Joe) Ostrowski of Dothan, Scott (Jenna) Sanders of Germany, Amy (James) Waddell of Tampa, Florida, Mark Sanders of Montgomery, and Dale Sanders of Montgomery; great-grandchildren: Dallas Ostrowski, McKenna Ostrowski and Jackson Ostrowski, Aiden Sanders of Montgomery, Peyton Sanders, and Sawyer Sanders of Germany.

Mrs. Sanders served many years as the executive secretary for Mr. Thompson at Alatex; she also worked in the county tax assessor and collections office. She was an avid gardener and helped her husband with beekeeping. She was an active member at Southside Baptist Church serving in the choir and as the pianist. She also served as the children’s Sunday school director for many years. She loved her family and her many friends and will surely be missed.

Pallbearers serving the family will be Lowe Dillard, Roger Powell, Steve Godwin, Joel Daughtry, Mark Sanders, and Dale Sanders.
