The Andalusia Police Department is investigating a Thursday night accident in which a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on the Martin Luther King Expressway near Southern Independent Bank.

Andalusia Police Chief Paul Hudson said the pedestrian, a female, was transported by ambulance to Andalusia Health. The driver of the vehicle, which was traveling in the westbound lane, was not injured.

Hudson said the investigation into the accident is ongoing.
