Local teen dies after I-65 crash

An Andalusia teen has died from injuries sustained in a vehicle accident. The identity of the victim is being withheld at this time.
According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the victim was involved in a two-vehicle crash on Friday, Sept. 9, at approximately 4:27 p.m.
The teen was critically injured when the 2007 Saturn Ion, driven by the 18-year-old, was stopped in the roadway, and then struck by a 2016 Chevy Tahoe driven by Felicia Shante Scarver, 37, of Greenville. The crash occurred on Interstate 65 near the 154-mile marker, approximately 10 miles south of Hope Hull, in Lowndes County.
The teen was transported to a local hospital and died Sunday as a result of injuries from the crash.
Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
