Rebecca Thomasson Daughtry, 73, of Ft Walton, Florida went to be with God on Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2022.

Rebecca was born July 26, 1949 to Charlie C. (Dodd) and LaRue (Pursell) Thomasson. She graduated from Straughn High School in the Class of 1967. She married Moda Daughtry on August 30, 1969 and had one son, Matthew L (Elizabeth) Daughtry, and was grandmother to Lillie and Amber Daughtry.

Rebecca was a strong, fiercely determined Christian, wife, mother and sister. She contracted rheumatic fever at an early age. This affected her heart and at 21 years old she had the first of several open-heart surgeries. She did not let her heart condition slow her down. Rebecca always found the energy to do what she needed and wanted to do for her church (Oakland Baptist Church) and family.

Rebecca had five sisters, Wylene (Jerry) Kelley, Dianne (Robert) Shaw, Kathy (Garry) Hanson, Harriet (Malcomb) Peevy, Yvonne (John) Bryars and two brothers, John (Sonny) (Jill) Thomasson and Steve (Karen) Thomasson. She, also, had 14 nieces and nephews.

It was Rebecca’s wish that no services be held for her.
