A long-time employee of Southeast Gas with extensive experience in marketing and operations, Black will lead community outreach initiatives and build on established partnerships in the region for the company and region’s next phase of growth.

“Jimmy Black was instrumental in the development of our Montgomery and Pike Road markets,” said Southeast Gas President and CEO Greg Henderson. “His proven leadership through established partnerships and collaboration efforts make Jimmy a natural fit as we add this greater emphasis on community development.”

Southeast Gas already places a priority on helping elevate the communities it serves. In his new role, Black will provide businesses and community leaders with tools and resources to help enhance economic growth.

“Working in this region and raising my family in this region, southeast Alabama is the place I call home and the quality of life here matters to me,” Black said. “Our region has vast differences and needs. I look forward to helping our smaller communities collaborate with existing businesses to broaden existing operations and supporting our larger communities with their ongoing job creation efforts.”

Black began his career with Southeast Gas in 2004. He has worked in several areas of the company, including operations, sales, and marketing. A graduate of Troy University, Black looks forward to working with his alma mater and other educational institutions in the region to focus on improving education and workforce outcomes for Southeast Alabama.

“We’re excited to announce Jimmy Black as our new Director of Community Development for Southeast Gas. As you know, Jimmy is a long-time employee of Southeast Gas and an excellent advocate for our communities,” Director of Corporate Services Shannon Jackson said.
