Andalusia will celebrate Veterans Day on Friday with several events.

The day’s activities begin with the annual Veterans Day Parade, coordinated by the Andalusia Area Chamber of Commerce, at 9 a.m.

Following the parade, the City of Andalusia will host its annual Veterans Day program featuring keynote speaker David “Mike” Edwards, founder of Project Exodus Relief, an organization that works to assist American citizens and Afghan SOF soldiers left behind after the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan. Edwards is a lifetime member of the U.S. Army Ranger Association and has been nominated for the Ranger Hall of Fame.

Following the program, a reception for veterans is planned in City Hall.

The AACC invites all veterans and their family members to ride in the parade on floats it prepares. Line-up begins at First Baptist Church from 8 until 9 a.m. The parade will begin at 9 a.m. and will end at City Hall where there will be a ceremony at Veterans Park.

Walkers, bikers, golf carts, trucks, trailers and floats also are welcome to join the parade. There is no charge for participation.
