Frances Carolyn Whittle Gantt Alligood, 92, of Bath, North Carolina, went to her eternal home on Nov. 11, 2022.

She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. Frances was a member of Athens Chapel Church of Christ and the Order Eastern Star. She will be remembered as a responsible, attentive, gentle person who spent over 20 years as a caregiver. Frances was born Oct. 11, 1930, in Andalusia, and is predeceased by parents, Jodie and Lena Whittle; brother, Walter; husbands, Mack Gantt and William Thomas “Dick” Alligood; and daughter, Karen Tetterton.

Survivors include Alisa Alligood, daughter of Bath; Alana Harrell, granddaughter of Chicago; Ethan Whichard, grandson of Washington; Jack Alligood, brother-in-law of Belhaven; and a host of nieces and nephews.
