Feagin Allen Sweatt, born on Oct. 3, 1936, departed this life on Dec. 7, 2022, at age 86 at Mizell Memorial Hospital.

Born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Allen E. Sweatt and Eva Chesser Sweatt of Red Level, Feagin was a graduate of Red Level High School in 1954.

Mr. Sweatt is survived by his son, Mark Sweatt of Trego, Montana; daughters, Melanye (Jerry) Milton of Red Level, Kimberly Boutwell (Craig) of the Babbie community, and Scott Sweatt (Mahala) of Dothan. Mr. Sweatt is also survived by eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Survivors also include one sister, Mrs. Lynne Tiller of Macon, Georgia, as well as three other siblings that have predeceased him: Mr. Norman Sweatt, Mrs. Agnes Fuller Ingram, and Mr. Rex Sweatt.

Feagin or simply “Feg” as many knew him farmed by career and loved the rural life that he grew up knowing so well. In recent years as his health began to deteriorate, he would find comfort and enjoyment in his many farm animals and pets.

Funeral services for Mr. Sweatt will be held Saturday, Dec. 10, at Foreman-Brown Funeral Home in Andalusia. Private viewing for the family will take place from 12:30 to 1 p.m. with public viewing from 1 to 2 p.m. Services will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in the Sweatt Family Cemetery in the Pigeon Creek community near Red Level.
