The Opp Police Department is investigating the death of an Opp man who was killed in a work-related accident Wednesday morning.

The identity of the 45-year-old male has not been released.

According to Opp Police Chief Kevin Chance, officers responded to Neal Tindol Tire on Saunders Road at approximately 8:35 a.m. Upon arriving at the scene, officers found the victim deceased in a shop area of the business.

The initial call to the police department referred to the incident as a tractor tire explosion. Officials said the man was killed from injuries sustained from the tire explosion.

Also responding to the scene were the Opp Fire Department and Haynes Ambulance Service.
