Tim King, 73, of Andalusia went to his Heavenly Home on Jan. 21, 2023 while under hospice care.
Tim was born and raised in Red Level and his family roots run deep in Covington County. He graduated from Red Level High School in 1967. Later he completed his apprenticeship program and became a nuclear certified welder while working on construction of the Farley Nuclear Plant. He was a Christian, a devoted husband and father, an active church member at Adellum Baptist Church and the teacher of the Men’s Sunday School Class for over 40 years. He enjoyed Alabama football, deer hunting and spending time with his family.
Tim is survived by his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 54 years, Shirley Partridge King; his devoted son, Steven King, of Andalusia; his aunt, Betty Lou Smith Cockcroft; and numerous cousins.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents, W.C. “Dub” and Sibyl Smith King.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan. 26, 2 p.m., at Keahey Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will begin at 1 p.m. until time of the services. Bro. Billy Boles will officiate. Special music will be provided by Ron Taylor. Interment will follow in the Andalusia Memorial Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Earl Steel, Jerry Parker, Buck Lee, Larry Turman, Larry Gunter and Tommy Welch. Honorary pallbearers will be the Adellum Baptist Church Men’s Class.
Flowers or memorial contributions to Comfort Care Hospice of Andalusia in memory of Tim will be appreciated.
