Covington County Conservation District announces scholarship

The Alabama Conservation District Employees Association is now accepting applications for six $750 scholarships to be awarded to students who are residents of the State of Alabama and planning to enter college in the summer or fall of the year 2023.

One scholarship will be awarded in each of the Association’s six designated Areas. The area in which Covington County is located contains nine other counties. One student from this 10-county area will be chosen for the scholarship. This scholarship can be used at the college of his/her choice.

To supplement this scholarship the Covington County Soil & Water Conservation District will also be awarding two $500 scholarships to students who are residents of Covington County and planning to enter college in the summer or fall of the year 2023.

To be eligible, the applicant must be a U.S. Citizen, High School Senior, and living in the State of Alabama. The applicant should be active in student affairs, show leadership abilities, and must show reasonable financial need. Students who are active in conservation, environmental, and agricultural related activities will score higher.
