Virlen John Hoffman of Red Level, Alabama, our dad and friend to so many, left for the ultimate vacation on May 4, 2023. He went straight into the arms of Jesus. Virl was born in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, on May 15, 1950, near the Wildcat Hills. Virl was a hard worker, but his life was so much more than business. It was filled with music and laughter, which flooded into everyone’s life in his path. His enthusiasm for attempting new things was insatiable and contagious. It didn’t matter if it was mastering old family recipes, carving long bows and making custom arrows, or working on his T-Bird. He could always make a mess, a big mess, but the end result was worth it. He loved life, but moreover, the people who were in it. Family and friends were glad that he came and sad to see him go. He will be missed deeply and his zest for life will live on through the people who loved him.

Mr. Hoffman is survived by his spouse, Deborah Jane Hoffman; children: Cameron Hoffman, Collin Hoffman (Melanie), John Hoffman, Abigail Turner (David), April Deal-Krauss, Rachel Hoffman; grandchildren: Shane Turner (Jessica), Candice Lee (Brandon), Brittany Scott (Christopher), Joshua Hoffman, Cole Hoffman (Lacie), Wyatt Hoffman, Cody Hoffman (Alexis), Preston Hoffman (Magdelyn), Hope Hoffman, Carly Hoffman (Billy), Aubrey Deal, Logan Deal, Amelia Adams, Ty Darling, Cordelia Niemiec; great-grandchildren: Landon, Paislee, Harper, Lily, Case, Woodrow, Kinsley, Elaina; siblings, Darryl Hoffman and Laura Cooper.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Velma Hoffman, and siblings, Roland Hoffman, Kendra Richards, and Ravina Hoffman.
