Mr. Oscar Bayne Petrey II of Andalusia passed away on Thursday, May 4. Petrey is survived by his wife, Colleen M. Petrey.

Mr. Petrey was born in Evergreen, Alabama, on Nov. 17, 1933, to parents Edith Cunningham Petrey and Oscar Bayne Petrey Sr., who preceded him in death. He was a man who loved God, the beauty of nature, his home, and his family. The time he spent manicuring his yard and garden was certainly evident as passers-by often spotted him with admiration enjoying that pastime he loved so much. Golf, hunting, and fishing also gave him much pleasure as special friends were made through the years in those pursuits.

Over the course of a 35-year progressive career, he served in a variety of positions in Human Resources, most notably as Director, Labor Relations in Montgomery, Alabama, and Sectional Center Manager in Fort Smith, Arkansas, a Postal Career Executive Service leadership position from which he retired in 1990.

Petrey is survived by four children, Oscar Bayne “Trey” Petrey III of Comptche, California, Martin Petrey (Leslie) of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Leanne Petrey Anderson of Destin, Florida, and Christopher Sanders Petrey (Ashley) of Muscle Shoals, Alabama; three step-children, Terry D.
