Edward Norman King, age 86, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed peacefully at his home surrounded by his family.
Born on Jan. 2, 1937, in Rose Hill, Alabama to Edward and Nellie (Rhoades) King. He was an Army Ranger for two years and was married to his wife, Ruby Jo (Clark) King for 18 years. Edward was known for his skill in his construction work and in his commercial career.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, June 6, at 11 a.m., at Rawls Baptist Church Cemetery in Dozier. Pallbearers honoring Edward were Jeremy Bond, Rev. Jerry Tyson, Greg English, Ronnie Gay, and Brian Norris.
Edward is survived by his wife, Ruby (Clark) King; a son, Glenn King of Pensacola, and a stepson, Greg English of Gantt; stepdaughters, Melinda Clark (Ronnie) Gay of Andalusia and Lisa English (Tony) Godwin of Andalusia; and a brother, Billy (Brenda) King of Wetumpka, Alabama. Also surviving Edward are his grandchildren, Clark Gay, Wesley King, Brittany King, Kayla (Zac) Mott, Brandy (Jeremy) Bond, and Heather (Bryan) Norris; great-grandchildren, Zander Mott, Xadie Mott, Salina King, Raylynn King, Jordan Bond, Abbie Bond, Sara Kate Cinereski, and Savannah Cinereski.
Edward was preceded in death by his son, Joey King, in 2018.
