Christie is one of six students selected for internships through the 10-week EDAA program, which began last week. As an intern for Southeast Gas through this program, she will work within a variety of areas related to economic development, including work at state, regional, local, and private organizations.

Southeast Gas Director of Economic Development Vince Perez looks forward to the company’s participation in this program and has first-hand insight to the value of the internship.

“Having served as an EDAA intern myself, I understand the benefit of meeting and working alongside economic professionals while still a student,” said Perez. “It was important to me that Southeast Gas participate with the program because of our commitment to increasing the standard of living for citizens of Alabama. Programs like this remind students like Claire that there are opportunities for them in our region and our state.”

Southeast Gas provides natural gas service to more than 32,000 customers in 36 communities throughout Southeast Alabama, and is owned by 14 cities – Abbeville, Andalusia, Brundidge, Dothan, Elba, Enterprise, Eufaula, Fort Deposit, Greenville, Headland, Luverne, Opp, Ozark and Troy.
